From first opening its doors in 1973, Klooftique has consistently remained a front-runner in manufacturing beautiful custom, heirloom furniture pieces. The Klooftique brand was originally created by Gerald Furman, who used the space at 87 Kloof steet to meticulously restore Cape and Victorian furniture, and sell them to Klooftique’s continuously growing clientele. For many years, the historic 87 Kloof street Heritage building served as a factory and retail space, and has since become a prominent feature in the beloved Kloof street, right in the heart of Cape Town. Since its humble beginnings, Klooftique has become one of South Africa’s most beloved brands. Producing heirloom furniture of the finest quality – expertly hand-crafted in our factory in Paarden Eiland, while trading from the original premises in Kloof Street. Klooftique remains a family-owned business.

Our professional consultants work closely with our clients to assist them in selecting the design and finish that is best suited to their space and application – both domestic and commercial.
From an extensive range of fabrics and leathers, to the finest, locally-sourced materials, we strive to provide clients with a boutique shopping experience, from quote to completion.
While Klooftique does not offer an in-house delivery service, we work closely with reputable delivery companies and exporters to assist clients in facilitating the delivery of their custom furniture pieces.
Respective lead times are communicated to clients accordingly.

All our furniture is made locally in our own factory. Klooftique is committed to the presentation of designs that are individual, soulful and sometimes playful. The range of furniture and home accessories are an electric mix of functional, yet complimentary furnishings.
+ - Wide Selection of Top Quality Leather
The utmost care goes into the selection of the leathers and hides used by Klooftique. Only the finest hides on offer are selected from suppliers both locally and internationally. Please note that South African leather is in no way inferior to imported leather. Klooftique uses only Top or Full Grain leather. This type of leather comes from the uppermost layer of the hide, making it the most durable and beautiful. This is the most genuine type of leather, as it retains all of the texture and markings of the original hide.

+ - A curated collection of upholstery fabrics
We have curated a collection of fabrics that best suits the look and style of our upholstery pieces.
We work with all South Africa fabric houses and have partnered up with: Homefabrics, Hertex, Bartlett and Dunster, Warwick and Eshanima, to name a few.
Our clients can browse through our curated collections instore and select fabric that they love. If there is nothing within our collections that they like, we either obtain additional fabric sampling books or we direct them to the fabric house showrooms, where they can browse a more comprehensive range than what we have in store .

Refurbishment Service
This service is currently unavailable.
With sustainability being something we continuously strive for, we offer Klooftique clients the following;
- Refilling of your Klooftique sofa or chair cushions
- Tightening of your Klooftique sofa or chair cushion covers
- A wax that polishes and nourishes your Klooftique leather piece (kindly note that we do not offer a waxing service)
WHAT THE PROCESS ENTAILS:
For quoting purposes of their respective refurbishment requirements, clients would be required to email images of their existing Klooftique pieces for a brief assessment. Should this not be sufficient for us to assist, we may require the piece to be delivered to our factory and will advise same.
Once the assessment has been completed, clients are provided with a quotation and their respective lead time, in order to create realistic expectations.
A 60% deposit is required as confirmation of service order, with the balance settled prior to delivery.
This service is subject to availability and at Klooftique’s discretion.
Delivery and collection is for the client’s account and payable directly to the delivery company. Klooftique will assist in facilitating the delivery and collection, but please be mindful that we do not offer an in-house delivery service.

- Your original Klooftique invoice (We are unfortunately unable to assist in cases where clients are unable to produce their original Klooftique invoice)
- Comprehensive images of your Klooftique piece
- The dimensions of your Klooftique piece

PLEASE NOTE: This service does not apply to furniture manufactured by external manufacturers and only applies to pieces manufactured by Klooftique.
